Applying for the visa before departureNo more than 3 months before departureService-public says this applies "in general" to students; France-Visas' Cameroon page sets a 6-month limit for all visas. In practice, Campus France gives the visa appointment after your final choice. Allow at least 1 month before departure (D61).

How to do it
A complete file does not guarantee a visa. And nobody can demand documents or fees from you outside the official counters: report any suspicious request.
- 1Go in person to the TLScontact centre at your appointment time: files are accepted by appointment only.
- 2At reception, an agent checks that your file matches the list of documents. Security checks happen before you enter: do not bring anything dangerous.
- 3Pay the visa fee (50 €, the rate for Campus France files) and the TLScontact service fee (38 €): these are two separate payments.
- 4Give your biometric data: photo and fingerprints.
- 5Keep the visa fee receipt safe: you will need it to collect your passport.
What you need
- Passport
- France-Visas form, printed, dated and signed
- Complete file, documents sorted in the order of the France-Visas list
- A second complete set of photocopies
- Campus France procedure fee receipt
- A means of payment for the visa fee and the service fee
Tips
- Sort your documents exactly in the order of the list: it speeds up the check and avoids missing items.
- There is no official amount in FCFA for the visa fee: ask the centre which payment method is accepted before the day.
- If you recently had a biometric Schengen visa, your fingerprints may be reused.
