Fill in the France-Visas form

It generates the exact list of documents to provide.

How to do it

The form must be filled in online on france-visas.gouv.fr, the official website. Be wary of any website or middleman offering to do it for a fee.

  1. 1Go to france-visas.gouv.fr and start the visa assistant: choose a long stay for studies. It tells you which visa to apply for, which supporting documents to attach and the fee.
  2. 2Create your France-Visas account and fill in the online form, using exactly the same details as in your Études en France file and your passport.
  3. 3Download your personalised list of supporting documents and compare it with what you gathered in the previous step.
  4. 4Scan and upload all your supporting documents into the right sections, then check they are readable before you submit.
  5. 5Submit your application, print the form, then date and sign it: you will need to bring it to your appointment.

What you need

  • Passport
  • Acceptance certificate from the institution
  • Readable digital copies of all your supporting documents
  • An email address you check often

Tips

  • Students who upload their documents online get a faster pass at the service provider, with a dedicated counter. Scanning them properly is worth it.
  • If your documents are badly scanned or missing, the provider may scan them on the day of your appointment and charge you extra for it. Check the price on its website beforehand.
  • Keep your France-Visas login details: that is also where you will track your application.
