How to do it
Without a CVEC certificate, either paid or exempt, your institution cannot finalise your enrolment.
- 1Wait until you have made your final choice of institution: it is recommended to pay as close as possible to your actual enrolment, in the programme you have chosen.
- 2Log in or create your account on messervices.etudiant.gouv.fr, then go to cvec.etudiant.gouv.fr.
- 3Enter your city of study and pay online by bank card: someone else's card, for example a relative's, is accepted.
- 4Download your certificate and write down its number: your institution will ask for it when you enrol.
- 5If you hold a French government scholarship, you are exempt: still go through the website to get your exemption certificate.
What you need
- Login details for your messervices.etudiant.gouv.fr account
- Name of your city of study and your institution
- Bank card that accepts online payments (yours or a relative's)
- Scholarship certificate, if you are exempt
Tips
- The CVEC is paid for each academic year: one year's certificate is not valid for the next.
- Save the certificate on your phone and print it: depending on the institution, you will be asked for the number online or the document in person.
- If you paid while you were exempt, or become exempt during the year, ask the Crous for a refund within the deadline shown on cvec.etudiant.gouv.fr.
