Take the French language test (TCF)
Required if you come from the anglophone system and are applying for first-year university.
How to do it
Without this test, your first-year university application may be blocked: ask Campus France through your messaging system to confirm the rule for the 2027-2028 campaign.
- 1Check whether this applies to you: Campus France Cameroun requires the test for holders or future holders of the GCE A-level (anglophone system) applying for the first year of university.
- 2Ask early at the Institut français du Cameroun, in Yaoundé or Douala, which runs the test: sessions, registration and fees.
- 3Register for the version Campus France requires for L1 (TCF without the speaking test).
- 4Take the test early enough for your results to be available before universities review applications.
- 5Keep your results certificate with your application documents.
What you need
- Your ID
- Your test notification
Tips
- For other levels (L2, L3, master…), each institution sets its own French requirements: read each programme's page carefully.
- In your Études en France file, declare your French level honestly in the language skills section.
- The Institut français du Cameroun also runs French courses: useful if you have time before the test.
